
Sterilization Guidelines for Tracheal Tube Introducers and Guides:
Instructions for Cleaning, Disinfection and Storage:
Prior to disinfection, thoroughly wash the introducer/guide in an aqueous solution
of neutral soap, removing all visible soling. Abrasion should be avoided. Rinse
with clean water and dry.
Immerse the product in a liquid disinfectant prior to use according to the
disinfectant manufacturer's recommendations. Prolonged immersion is not recommended.
e.g. 12 hours.
Remove product from disinfectant and rinse with fresh or sterile water as required.
STERILIZATION BY EXPOSURE TO ETHYLENE OXIDE GAS, IONIZING RADIATION AND AUTOCLAVING
IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
Between uses; the introducer/guide should be stored in its original container
between 10°C and 25° C at 70% relative humidity maximum. Protect from light,
heat and radioactive sources.
