Cleaning and Sterilization for Conventional Laryngoscope

Blades and Handles: Blades and Handles:

Cleaning: Remove blade and batteries from handle, then immerse blade and sealed handle in a presoak/cleaner enzymatic solution, such as Klenzyme for two minutes. Remove blade and handle in a detergent, such as Manu-klenz. Remove bottom caps and light guide, then brush thoroughly using a soft-bristle brush while immersed, rinse under cold running tap water. Dry blade and handle with a soft cloth and reassemble. Test for proper function.

Immerse for 45 minutes at room temperature. Rinse all parts two times in sterile distilled water. Dry all parts with a clean, soft cloth and reassemble. Test for proper function.

Steam Sterilization: After cleaning laryngoscope units (as above) remove batteries and double wrap in standard (140 count 2-ply) cotton muslin.
