Cleaning, Sterilization and Disinfection Guidelines for the Fiber Optic Stylets:

Cleaning: Clean immediately after use to prevent the drying on of residues then remove bundle and batteries from handle; then immerse bundle and handle with out switch in an enzymatic solution, such as Enzy-Clean for the period of time stated on the label.

Remove bundle and handle from enzymatic solution, rinse with clean water then immerse bundle and handle without switch in a neutral pH detergent, such as Insta-Clean following directions on the label. Use a soft-bristle brush to clean all surfaces, especially around light carrier.

• Clean bundle and handle with a soft cloth then rinse with clean water.
• Dry bundle and handle with a clean, dry soft cloth.

Sterilization: Unscrew bottom cap from handle. Sterilize bundle and handle with Ethylene Oxide (ETO)

AMSCO 1 hour 45 minutes exposure time @ 132° F
CASTLE 2 hours exposure time @ 132° F
Aerate 12 hours @ 120° F

Disinfection: Battery compartment bottom cap/switch should be removed from the handle. Immerse bundle and handle in an activated 2% glutaraldehyde solution without surfactants (ie 14 Day). Immerse for 20 minutes at temperature stated on the label.

• Rinse all parts two times in sterile distilled water.
• Dry all parts with a clean, soft cloth or in a mechanical drying cabinet.
